How to measure your child’s foot

Stand on paper
Have your child stand with their full weight on a sheet of paper, heel against a wall.

Mark the longest toe
Mark the tip of the longest toe — it isn’t always the big toe.

Measure both feet
Measure from the wall to the mark. Use the longer foot if they differ.

How much room?
A common guide is around 10–15 mm between the longest toe and the end of the shoe. We use 12 mm.
Check often
Toddlers’ feet can grow a size every few months. Many parents re-measure every 6–8 weeks.
